Terms and Conditions

1.0 General

1.1 Trading name — B.Selvan trading as Star Mac services and Star PC Services
1.2 Business address:
 22 The Highway, Orpington BR6 9DG

2.0 Services to customers

  1. B.Selvan role is to provide IT support services and IT software, hardware and installation in order to help customer maintain and resolve any functionality issues relating to customer’s IT software, hardware and equipment (the “IT support services”).
  2. B.Selvan will provides IT support services as per the customer’s requirements.

Based on the information that the customer has provided and any survey B.Selvan will issue a formal quotation to the customer along with a list of works to be carried out (work list). In order to proceed, the customer must agree either in writing, by text or by email. By agreeing to proceed with work, the customer confirms that they understand, accept, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If additional works to be carried out outside the agreed work list then it will be charged at £85 per hour. Before doing any such extra work customer will be informed and permission will be sought prior to doing work.

3.0 Fees

The hourly rate is £85.

4.0  Warranty/Guarantees — Regular maintenance contract

B.Selvan warrants to the customer that the computer services, hardware and software Installation will be provided using reasonable care and skill.

Where the services include  the monitoring of the customer’s malware or virus detection systems B.Selvan shall only be responsible for monitoring and notification to the customer of any invasion of malware or viruses to the customer’s systems. Any further action required after the notification, including any action required to remove any malware or viruses identified by B.Selvan, will be the customer’s sole responsibility and will be charged accordingly.

B.Selvan shall not be liable for products failure if:

  1. Using malware infected files against advice of the B. Selvan.
  2. Failure of Antivirus product purchased by customer.
  3. Download and installing files containing malicious code.
  4. Unsupported and illegal software installations.

B.Selvan is not be liable for any costs or losses sustained or incurred by the Customer arising directly or indirectly from infection by malware, ransomware, virus, other cyber-attack, or any other security breach, however caused.

5.0  Warranty/Guarantees Customer’s own maintenance after repair or installation

  1. B. Selvan warrants to the customer that the computer services, hardware and software Installation will be provided using reasonable care and skill.

Upon completion of work B. Selvan will demonstrate full working of system free of viruses and malware to customer. All system administration passwords will be given in writing along with final report. After the handover customer shall be solely responsible for ensuring that at all times all data which is, in the opinion of the customer, important or critical to its operations has been backed up, and that recovery procedures sufficient to enable the restoration of that data in the event of loss or corruption are in place.

Customer must ensure that they will take appropriate care to protect the system from malware attacks.

After the handover it is up to the customer to take extreme care to protect the system as B.Selvan has no way monitoring customer’s actions.

B.Selvan shall not be liable for products failure if:

6.0 Warranty / Guarantees – Computer hardware repairs, Installation of new and used computers

6.1 Supply and install of new computer hardware:

All new computer system supplied will have one-year manufacturer’s warranty on hardware against manufacturing faults.   Corrupt software, virus and malware attacks, slow internet, and other software problems are not covered under this warranty.

6.2 Supply and installation of used and refurbished computers

Will carry three months hardware warranty only. Corrupt software, virus and malware attacks, slow internet, and other software problems are not covered under this warranty.

6.3 Computer hardware repairs and Hardware replacements

New hardware elements replaced to fix faulty computers will have 3 months warranty on replaced parts only.

7.0 Software Licensing

The client shall be solely responsible for complying with software licence.

8.0 Invoice payment and recovery charges

8.1 Invoice Payment

Invoice will be issued immediately after completion of work. All invoices must be paid on the same day upon receipt. B. Selvan does not offer any credit terms.

8.2  Delayed payment

For all delayed payments any discount offered on the invoice will be removed. In addition, B.Selvan reserves the right to apply interest charges for the late payment of any fees overdue for more than fourteen working days after the period stated on the presented invoice, at a rate of 8% net which will be added monthly.

8.3 Unpaid invoices

If the invoice is remains unpaid for 30 days necessary action will be taken to recover the money. Any discount offered on the invoice will be removed.   In addition to interest charges mentioned in section 8.2 plus all debt recovery and legal charges will also be added to invoice total.
